Rules of the Road

Communities work best when we share and care for the Commons – those resources that promote safe and equitable access to all members. Here is a rough draft for how best to support the Shuttle Service. Feel free to send us any suggestions on how best to maintain the safety and reliability of this service for the benefit of ALL.

New Shuttle Service

Yellow Springs Senior Center recently added a 2025 Ford 12-passenger transit van to our fleet of vehicles. In addition to providing transportation to seniors for medical appointments, wellness checks and other errands, the van will accommodate our programs, e.g., Group Outings as well as other possibilities for wider use in the Village of Yellow Springs. Currently, we are exploring the feasibility of using the van as a SHUTTLE service with regular stops around town. Initially, we imagine a ten-stop circuit, 3–4 times daily on Monday & Wednesdays.

Among the stops currently being considered are:
  • John Bryan Center
  • Yellow Springs Library,
  • Antioch Wellness Center
  • Friends Care
  • Community Physicians, and
  • The commercial district uptown.

Rides will be available to passengers who 18 years and older, free for the duration of the “Pilot Phase” – though donations will be most welcome.
